PSAT/NMSQT: Contact Ms. Kamphausen at leslie.kamphausen@bbis.de
Benefits of the PSAT/NMSQT (U.S.A. Applicants)
Taking the PSAT/NMSQT benefits students by providing:
1) Personalized feedback on academic skills to aid their learning
and help prepare them for the expectations of college;
2) The best practice for the SAT Reasoning Test;
3) An opportunity to participate in Student Search Service,
a secure, monitored service that connect students to colleges,
universities, and scholarship programs;
4) An opportunity for juniors to enter competition for the
National Merit Scholarship and other recognition programs;
5) A first look at how their performance compares nationally
to their sophomore or junior peers who are also considering
college; and
6) Motivation to start planning and preparing for life after
high school.
Benefit of The ACT Examination: (U.S.A. Applicants)
The ACT test is a measurement of a students current level
of educational development in English, mathematics, reading,
and science. The scores are used by most colleges and scholarship
agencies for admissions, placement, and award decisions.
SAT Reasoning Test (U.S.A. Applicants)
The SAT measures developed reasoning skills important to college
success. More than two million students take the SAT reasoning
test each year. Because courses and grading standards vary
widely from school to school, scores on the SAT, along with
other criteria like high school GPA, help colleges predict
a student’s ability to succeed.
SAT Subject Test (U.S.A. Applicants)
The Subject Tests measure student’s knowledge and skills
in a particular subject and their ability to apply that knowledge
(no student may take more than three tests on any testing
date). Each Subject Test is a one- hour multiple-choice test.
CSS/Financial Aid Profile (U.S.A. Applicants)
Is a fully online service that helps colleges and organizations
award their private students aid funds. PROFILE is required
or accepted by approximately 650 colleges, universities, and
scholarship programs
Colleges, Universities, graduate and professional schools,
and scholarship programs use the information collected on
the PROFILE to help them award nonfederal student aid funds.
The College Board does not award scholarship money or other
financial aid.
The PROFILE Application is customized for you based on the
information you give when you register for the service. By
completing the PROFILE, you provide the college with a complete
picture of your family's financial circumstances. PROFILE
allows you to include explanations about special circumstances
on the application.
UCAS (U.K. Applicants)
Universities and Colleges Admissions Services: UCAS is the
central organization that processes applications for full-time
undergraduate courses at U.K. universities and colleges.
