Leadership Through Play

Friday, 14 October, 2016

It was a joy to see Secondary School Student Council members, House Leaders and Class Reps from grade 6 to 12 working together during their leadership retreat on Monday. They collaborated on various Lego Serious Play challenges and analysed which skills they need to improve further as leaders.

After looking at Tuckman’s theory of group dynamics, Mr Gregory, who facilitated the workshop, had arranged Job-Alike sessions. This way, all of our student leaders met with principals, accountants, secretaries and event organisers to ask them about how to motivate and lead, and how to plan, finance and organise events.

The students applied some of what they had learned straight afterwards, when they met in groups to plan their next events.
