Physical Education
A carefully planned programme of Physical Education (PE) contributes to the balanced education that BBIS offers its students. As an IB school we offer both the Primary Years Programme (PYP) as well as the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Our facilities, staff and curriculum are world class and we are constantly looking for ways to further enrich and develop our programmes.
PE plays an important role in the physical, cognitive and social development of each student. Our programmes are varied and flexible, which allows our staff to adjust them to the needs of each individual child. Differentiation within lessons is normal practice to ensure that each child can work at his or her own level and pace.

PE Department Vision
We hope to promote the individual’s desire to be physically active and healthy throughout life, by fostering enjoyment, developing self- confidence and social competencies through the acquisition of skill and knowledge in individual and team activities.
PE Department Mission
We aim to encourage students to make informed decisions about their personal choices towards a healthy and active lifestyle. The BBIS PE staff works towards that goal by
- Teaching lessons which provide enjoyment and achievable experiences for all.
- Devising a curriculum that exposes the students to the appropriate level of skill acquisition through differentiation.
- Using physical activities as a vehicle to develop individual qualities and personal development by promoting
- Self-reliance, personal and group organisation
- Awareness of cultural and physical diversity
- A respectful, safe and caring community of learners
- Self-confident and independent learners
