Careers and College Counselling
Leslie Silverman Kamphausen has been employed at BBIS since its earliest days. She received a B.A. in Developmental Psychology and French from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and holds a Masters of Education degree in Counseling from Boston University.
In her role as Career and College Counsellor, she is mainly responsible for helping students in their career planning, college selection and in the application process. As she works directly with the School Psychologist/Elementary School Counsellor and the Middle/High School Counsellor, she is also available as a support in social, emotional and personal concerns of the students.
Once a year BBIS holds a Career Day for High School students to assist them in acquiring insights into work life and to help guide them in their career orientation.
College Counselling
The high school years are full of growth, promise, excitement, frustration, disappointment and hope. It is the time when students begin to discover what the future holds for them.. High school students deal with a great deal of academic pressure as they face high-stakes exams, the challenges of college admissions and the application process and entrance into a competitive job market.
College counseling programmes help by empowering students to achieve optimal personal growth, to acquire positive social skills and values, to set appropriate career goals and to realize their full academic potential in becoming productive, contributing members of the world community.
