Events 2010/2011
The graduation ceremony for the class of 2011 took place on 27 May. It was a very successful day starting with a lunch, followed by a photo opportunity at the Brandenburg Gate and then the formal ceremony here at school, which was followed by a champagne reception for the graduates and about 350 guests. It was great to see so many proud families and friends joining us for the day. Special thanks to the Supervisory Board who all came to share these moments with us. Our students made a great show on the day and can enjoy a rest before moving on to the next stage of their lives.
On 26 May, BBIS students had the chance to participate in the first Middle School Coffee House Concert, where parents, siblings and fellow students were able to enjoy their performances in the Heizhaus. It was very nice to see so many MS students share their musical talents by playing instruments, singing or performing as a small ensemble or band. Thank you Ms. Kovacs for organizing this opportunity for students to share their passion, all the students for taking the risk to play or sing in front of this big audience, and all parents, siblings and staff for being such a great audience – and for performing too.
In May, the grade 11 biology and geography students recently enjoyed the annual trip to Slapton sands in Devon, England where they undertook research and study to support their IB work. As always the trip was reported to be very successful with the students full of enthusiasm, albeit tired, on their return.
