MYP - Week 1

Friday, 26 August, 2016

A warm welcome to all new and returning families, we look forward to another exciting year of learning at BBIS. For all grade 6 to 8 students, the first day back at school kicked off with various workshops and team-building activities which were both - fun and challenging at the same time.

During the Chopstick Relay Races students had to prove their fine motor skills picking up gummy bears and Smarties with chopsticks, whereas the Lava Game gave them the opportunity to plan and develop strategies as a team while they were trying to get a group of 20 students across the sports field using three flat cardboard boxes as their means of transport.

Our grade 9 and 10 students started the week with teambuilding activities in their homerooms and participated in their first assembly. The grade 9 and 10 assembly focused on the academic requirements for grade 9 and 10 as well as on students’ personal goals for this school year. Students also discussed what Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, Melania Trump and Enrique Peña Nieto could have avoided, had they followed the Academic Honesty standards required at BBIS.

I hope that all new members of our BBIS community, students, teachers and parents alike, will receive lots of help and support to settle in and adjust quickly.

Trip Information Evening for Grades 6 to 10 - Thursday, 1st September 2016

Dear Grade 6 to 10 MYP Parents,

BBIS arranges school trips for the various grade levels which are of great educational benefit. Our school has a comprehensive trip policy that governs such trips to ensure that they are safe, educational, meaningful and enjoyable.

The trip week at the end of September will give all students the chance to settle in quicker, to develop good social skills from the start, and to help the team dynamics and class spirit after a long summer break. For new students as well as new teachers at BBIS, this is a great chance to get to know each other better and integrate faster.

With our trip policy in mind, we have planned our trips from 26th September to 30thSeptember 2016.
