Seriously, what do I want to be when I grow up?

Friday, 16 December, 2016

The BBIS Annual Career Day took place during the school day for Grades 10 and 11 secondary school students. We invited professionals from the community to lead small round-table discussions with the students, sharing the details of their professions.

Our guests represented the following professions: International Relations, Medicine, Engineering, Hospitality Industry, Business Consultant, Start-up business, IT, Psychology, Biology-Genetics. Discussions took the format of workshops in the BBIS classrooms. The students were given the opportunity to ask individual questions about professional training, university study and future job situations, in order to gain a sense of the real-life situation in these professional areas. Each student had the opportunity to attend three of the workshops.

We very much appreciated our guests’ willingness to come to school for an entire morning to speak with our students, and share their professional experience.
