High School
The High School at BBIS runs from Grades 9 to 12. Students complete the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) in Grades 9 and 10 and then move on to the IB Diploma Programme (DP) or the dual IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC)/ High School Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12.
The High School, with its warm and friendly atmosphere, fosters social and personal development together with an academic programme that realizes each student’s potential.
At the end of Grade 10, after the completion of the MYP Personal Project, successful students receive a BBIS MYP Certificate. Grades 11 and 12 students have the opportunity to receive the IB Diploma, a qualification recognized by top universities throughout the world. BBIS has an excellent pass rate and has recently become one of the few schools to have had students achieve the maximum of 45 points on the diploma.
Since August 2009 we have been offering the BBIS High School Diploma as an independent enrichment programme for students in grades 11 and 12. This programme has now been certified by the International Baccalaureate Organization as one of the first IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC) programmes in the world. This unique curriculum provides students with the opportunity to acquire life-pertinent knowledge and skills through business-oriented coursework and internships. It is a more career-oriented alternative to the IB Diploma.
The High School encourages students to be active learners, engaged world citizens, and well-rounded individuals. Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide selection of extracurricular activities that include sailing, basketball, yoga, drawing, Human Rights Club, Musical Mania, Model United Nations, and dozens more.
All High School students have the opportunity to participate in curriculum-related field trips within Germany and abroad.
If you are considering our school we welcome visits and can usually arrange for students to join a class for a day's trial if they wish.
