Middle School
The Middle School at BBIS runs from Grades 6 to 8. The unique needs of adolescents are met in a positive, safe environment, where personal growth is guided through rigorous academic challenge and an emphasis on character development.
The Middle School follows the first three years of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), which acts as an important link between the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP).
In addition to the academic programme, students are given many choices of extracurricular activities, including sailing, basketball, badminton, soccer, and athletics, Drama Club, Instrumental Ensemble, and Student Council.
The Middle School is organised into four Houses (The Red Hawks, The Blue Blizzards, The Golden Cheetahs, and The Green Eagles), and students have inter-house competitions.
Students also participate in a number of curriculum-related field trips within Germany and abroad.
The Middle School enjoys a suite of purpose-built classrooms that give the students a sense of identity and belonging.
In the Middle School at BBIS, students, parents, teachers, and administrators all share a common goal: academic and personal success for each student in the school.
