BBIS Berlin Brandenburg International School is an independently run, state-approved, inclusive, English-medium day and boarding school serving the internationally-minded community of Germany’s capital region and beyond. As one of the world’s leading International Baccalaureate (IB) schools, BBIS proudly offers three IB programmes in the Primary, Middle and Diploma years of schooling. In the current school year 2020/21 our school teaches about 730 students who represent more than 60 nationalities.

Job Description

The minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following essential functions:

  • Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
  • Maintains discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive learning environment for all students and staff in accordance with school policies.
  • Organizes students for effective instruction.
  • Ensures the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Reports to office upon arrival at school; checks online with absent teacher for materials requiring immediate attention.
  • Requests clarification of school rules and procedures, if necessary.
  • Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate teacher or Principal immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Implements lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
  • Complies with and supports school regulations and policies.

Your Profile
  • Teaching experience, preferably in IB MYP or IBDP/CP, or in a similar role in international schools.
  • Energetic and internationally-minded.
  • A genuine interest and experience in active use of technology and curate resources to facilitate student learning.
  • High level of initiative, willing to work in an ambitious and dynamic school.
  • Team player, resilient, positive & growth mindset.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students and colleagues alike.
  • Commitment to academic excellence is matched by a belief in educating the whole person.
  • Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
  • Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
