BBIS Berlin Brandenburg International School is an independently run, state-approved, inclusive, English-medium day and boarding school serving the internationally-minded community of Germany’s capital region and beyond. Teach IB Diploma SL/HL Visual Arts and MYP Art to students from grade 6 to 12.
Innovative, connected, creative, collaborative, flexible and proactive professional, who has a passion for your subject.Have strong beliefs that all students can access and succeed in the arts and that the cornerstone of student confidence is the acquisition of foundational content, skills, and understandings.Have a keen interest in promoting student well-being through teaching and learning in the Art classroom and beyond.
Experience in teaching Art in the IB programmes (MYP and DP, although we might also consider candidates with experience in the AP, A-Level, IGCSE or similar, as training can be provided as part of our extensive professional development programme.
Teaching certification, preferably with a master’s degree in a related field.
Experience in a similar role in international schools.
Excellent references indicating a passion for teaching Art.
Outstanding communication (both written and spoken).
Demonstrate at all times the learner profile attributes/dispositions.
Conviction to the development of inquiry-based and conceptually driven curriculum units and educational programmes.
Effective practice to utilise technology within teaching and learning.
Ensure regular community performances, support of school events, and showcasing of student excellence.
Supervise the Personal Project/Extended Essay.
Commitment to homeroom/advisor role, including Service as Action
Experience in teaching Theory of Knowledge.
Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular activities programme.
Experience as an IB workshop leader or similar.
Experience organising the DP art exhibition.
