Head Boarding BBIS

BBIS GmbH is an independently run, state-approved, inclusive, English-medium day and boarding school serving the internationally-minded community of Germany’s capital region and beyond. We are the first International Baccalaureate (IB) World School to be fully authorized by the IB organization to teach all four IB programmes covering the 3 to 19 age range. In the current school year 2019/20 our school teaches about 750 students who represent more than 60 nationalities. Over 60 of the approximately 300 students in grades 9-12 live and study in the newly renovated boarding facility located on the BBIS campus. This unique international boarding community focuses on three main goals: 1. Healthy lifestyle, 2.Achievement of academic potential, 3. Fostering intercultural understanding. BBIS is looking for a Head of Boarding with charisma, empathy for teenagers from many cultures, seasoned leadership skills, extensive experience as the head of an international boarding community, enduring stamina and transformative vision.

  • Developing a passion and a vision for BBIS Boarding and BBIS overall
  • Embodying and furthering the three main goals of BBIS Boarding
  • Leading the boarding community collaboratively and purposefully
  • Contributing and strengthening positive energy in BBIS Boarding
  • Maintaining an eye for detail regarding facility, staff and student management while
  • Successfully avoiding micromanagement
  • Supporting and guiding the boarding staff team members to mentor the boarding students in a successful and fulfilling fashion
  • Supporting the boarding students to fulfil the goals of BBIS Boarding as well as their individual goals in life
  • Communicating and collaborating with all stakeholders (students, parents, guardians, BBIS staff, management team, governing board, youth and other authorities, etc) to further
  • strengthen BBIS Boarding community and BBIS overall
  • - upholding the BBIS Boarding guidelines including management of disciplinary actions
  • - managing BBIS Boarding within an agreed financial framework
  • - supporting the professional development of the existing boarding staff and new staff
  • members
  • - managing the boarding mentor work schedule
  • - managing the recruitment of international boarding students including working with
  • agencies and traveling to recruitment fairs worldwide
