CELEBRATING THE HEART OF BBIS

In June, the BBIS community came together to celebrate something that often works in the background quietly, yet remains essential to the identity of our school: the dedication and support of our parent community. 

The Community Appreciation Morning is more than a date on the calendar. It is an opportunity to recognise and thank the people who help strengthen our school community every day.

Throughout this academic year, our parent community has contributed in many different ways. From supporting major events to offering small acts of kindness, every contribution has helped shape the BBIS experience. Whether parents shared their creativity, celebrated their culture with us, supported key events, or welcomed new families into our community, their involvement has made a meaningful difference to our students’ experiences.

This year, hundreds of volunteers shared their time, skills and energy to support life at BBIS. Their involvement strengthened school events, sports activities, performances and community initiatives, helping create an environment where students feel supported and families feel at home.

Throughout the year, community celebrations brought people together through arts, culture, education and sport. These occasions helped new families build connections and highlighted the strong partnership between parents and staff that enriches the BBIS experience.

One highlight was the spirit of collaboration shown during our cultural events, where volunteers from different cultures and backgrounds shared their traditions with our students. These experiences offered learning opportunities far beyond the classroom.

During the Community Appreciation Morning, our Director, Beth Dressler, shared heartfelt words of gratitude, acknowledging the many ways community involvement enriches life at BBIS. The message reflected what so many of us feel: BBIS is more than a school. It is a community shaped by people who care.
