80 BBIS STUDENTS TAKE ON THE BERLIN MINI-MARATHON

It was a wonderful day of running, encouragement and community spirit as 80 BBIS students took to the streets of Berlin for this year’s mini-MARATHON, with families, friends and staff cheering them on.

Wearing their yellow #BBISactive T-shirts, our runners joined thousands of students from across Berlin and Brandenburg to complete the final 4.2195 kilometres of the Berlin Marathon route.

For our BBIS community, the day was about much more than crossing the finish line. It was about coming together, supporting one another and sharing an experience beyond the classroom. Whether running alongside friends, cheering from the sidelines or celebrating at the finish line, everyone played a part in making the day special.

A REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT FOR NEO

The day also brought an outstanding individual achievement. Grade 9 student Neo finished third out of approximately 12,000 runners, completing the course in an impressive 15 minutes and 13 seconds.

Neo trains four to five times a week with Berliner SC, while also finding time for friends, other sports and our BBIS Panthers cross-country team. His next goal is to qualify for the German national athletics squad (Bundeskader), with the dream of competing at the Olympic Games one day.

While Neo's performance was a particular highlight, the day was a celebration of all 80 BBIS runners, each contributing to a memorable experience for our school community.
