My role at BBIS:

Edtech Integrator and IB MYP Design Teacher

When did you join BBIS?

August 2019

What is your background?

I studied Computer Engineering and continued my education in Information Systems Management. As a student at university, I started teaching ICT and Computer Science in 1999 and I am still in this profession. Before moving to BBIS, I taught IB MYP Design, DP ITGS, and iGCSE ICT in Dubai with additional roles such as head of ICT department, innovation leader, and edtech integrator.

What inspires you in your professional role?

Our fantastic students inspire me everyday and I want to be an inspiring teacher for them. Every time I enter the classroom, I find myself thinking of how to use my passion for teaching and apply my talents to inspire a student. I try to remember the qualities of my inspiring teachers and I always think about whose life I will help change for the better tomorrow.

What are you passionate about?

Outside of my professional field which is education and technology, the main passion that I have at this time is the study of self-knowledge through psychology, philosophy, and mythology. Covid gave me this opportunity to attend online courses and deepen my knowledge in these areas.

What makes BBIS special?

BBIS is special as it is an internationally-minded school. The school is working towards creating an inclusive and non-selective community where all students feel valued for who they are.
