Academic Centre for Excellence

Helping our Grade 11 and 12 students reach their fullest potential.

The final years of school present unique and exciting challenges. The BBIS Academic Centre for Excellence (ACE) provides extra support to our Grade 11 and 12 students as they complete their chosen study pathway.

Our ACE coaches work closely with classroom teachers to deliver one-on-one support, with each student’s unique needs in mind. Through ACE, students get help with:

  • Planning, structuring, and editing assessments
  • Developing academic writing skills
  • Understanding course content
  • Preparing for tests and exams
  • Creating study schedules
  • Filling specific skill gaps
  • Maintaining concentration and motivation
  • Accessing extension or enrichment materials

The one-on-one academic coaching is delivered during study periods, with sessions available by appointment and on a drop-in basis.

Group workshops are regularly held to support the development of academic writing skills, study skills, exam skills, and assessment-specific skills. ACE academic support materials are also available.

While some students may be referred by their teachers or parents, most students proactively approach our academic coaches themselves. For queries, please e-mail secondary.academiccoaching@bbis.de.
