BBIS celebrates the 16th Berlin International Music Project

On 14 and 15 February 2026, BBIS Berlin Brandenburg International School proudly hosted the 16th Berlin International Music Project (BIMP), welcoming young musicians from Berlin, Brandenburg and across Europe for a weekend of collaboration, creativity and musical excellence.

Over two inspiring days, students immersed themselves in intensive rehearsals, working with experienced conductors and music educators to prepare a diverse programme. Choirs, orchestra, rock and pop band, percussion ensemble and dance groups rehearsed side by side, united by a shared commitment to high-quality music-making.

Founded in 2010 as a collaboration between five Berlin international schools, BIMP has grown into a much-anticipated annual tradition. Now in its 16th year, the project continues to reflect the values at the heart of BBIS: inclusion, innovation and meaningful action.

This year’s guest groups included:

  • Berlin British School, Germany
  • "Hatekicsi" Hungarian Folk Dance Group, Luxembourg
  • Joyful Noise Gospel Choir, Germany
  • Local Vocal Chamber Choir, Hungary
  • Local Vocals, Germany

The weekend culminated in a vibrant Gala Concert that showcased the remarkable achievements of the participants. From beautiful choral harmonies and dynamic orchestral works to energetic rock and pop performances, rhytmic percussion, expressive traditional folk dance, and impressive solo performances, the concert was a joyful celebration of creativity and collaboration.

Events of this scale are only possible through the dedication of students, staff, volunteers and families. We extend our sincere thanks to all participating schools and guest groups for contributing to such an enriching and memorable weekend.

A donation to the BBIS Arts Fund directly enriches the creative lives of our students. Your support enables exceptional artistic experiences, from vibrant set designs and costumes to upgraded instruments, lighting and sound equipment, as well as enhanced materials for visual arts.

The 16th BIMP once again demonstrated that music has the power to connect cultures, strengthen community and inspire young people to achieve more together.
