United World Schools Club

Our school has been supporting the charity United World Schools (UWS) for more than three years now. UWS provides quality, inclusive education in remote areas around the world. BBIS' partner school is a primary school located in O Swy, Cambodia.

The student-run UWS Club at BBIS plans a great number of activities every year to raise funds for students at our partner school. All fundraising efforts were planned in cooperation with and under the auspices of our PTA.

Even though 2021 saw many challenges, our community successfully raised 11,578.72 EUR and therefore exceeded the initial goal of 9,000 EUR. The raised amount supports the education of all 187 students in O Swy for a whole year.

Some of the 2021 highlights were the online trek to Cambodia, the Halloween haunted house, the art competition, and the online art auction. In addition, many smaller fundraisers took place throughout the year. The UWS Club is a wonderful opportunity for our students to show their commitment and creativity while collaborating to achieve a shared goal. They also inspire each other to become compassionate global citizens who make a difference through action.
