In Germany, we are fortunate to live in a country that is a world leader in recognizing the importance of the rights of the child and young people. As one of the first European states to turn the UN Rights of the Child into law, Germany advocates for the right of young people to have a genuine democratic voice in decision making within schools.
BBIS offers many exciting opportunities for its students to learn about leadership. The following pages offer an insight into a few of our student leadership bodies (e.g. Primary and Secondary School Student Council, Secondary School House Leadership, Peacemakers, Student Ambassadors). Team captaincy in sport, leadership through our outdoor educational programmes, the Model United Nations club, and our Human Rights Club and many other clubs are also important aspects of our holistic extracurricular programme that promote student leadership and governance.

These student initiatives promote the importance of social responsibility, effective human interpersonal skills, coupled with real action. Over the last 30 years, many BBIS graduates have moved on to take up leadership roles in companies, communities and countries. We believe that we have a significant role to play in enabling all of our students to reach their full potential to become leaders, in whatever capacity they wish to serve. The leaders of tomorrow are in our classrooms!
