Summer School: Positive Education in a Nutshell
Introducing Positive Education at BBIS
In a world dominated by speed, rapid AI development, political uncertainty and an increasingly unpredictable future, values, self knowledge and character strengths are becoming more and more important. Purpose exploration and resilience are critical for our personal well-being and also for having a sense of direction to live a meaningful and balanced life. Positive Education puts these foundational skills back on the agenda in education and schools.
This two day course is lead by international Positive Education consultant Dr. Elke Paul, who has been advising BBIS during this years’ introduction of positive education.
The course will introduce you to the main ideas of the E.N.G.A.G.E. well-being concept, which is based on the research of Martin Seligman and his team at the University of Pennsylvania.
During the course:
- You will evaluate your own well-being first, and also learn strategies on how to boost it.
- You will explore hands-on ideas to incorporate some of these concepts into your life, into the curriculum and the culture at your school.
- Our secondary principal Michaela Jung will also give you first hand insights into the benefits and challenges of implementing Positive Education here at BBIS.
The course will be held from 9.-10. August 2018 at our BBIS Campus, only 30 minutes from the center of Berlin.
Our contract hotel NH Kleinmachnow is a few minutes walk from the school. Please quote BBIS when booking your room.
The course fees is 300 Euros net (plus 19% VAT = 357 Euros gross to pay) which includes meals and snacks during the day and a social program and dinner in the evening on the 9th in Berlin.
