Our former boarding students have some wonderful stories to tell about life at BBIS Boarding.
There are a lot of things that make BBIS Boarding special. First of all is the boarding experience overall. To live with people from all around the world, learn about their culture and interact together really helps to widen one’s world views. I had in my close friend group Russian, Dutch, New Zealander and an Italian. When all nations live together the barriers are lifted and it becomes very easy to get to know each other's culture and personality. These global friendships stay and last a life-time. I am still living with my Russian room-mate from boarding after having graduated from University and we regularly meet our Italian and Dutch friends. This alone is something you can’t find elsewhere. When it comes to the specialty of BBIS - it is one of the best places that support this kind of environment. From amenities to the expressive freedom each student gets, it is easily one of my favorite years spent socializing and developing personally.
As our campus has many great sporting facilities and I was a big fan of Volleyball and Basketball - I loved playing these sports after school. During my university times I understand the advantage of having a nice campus and good sport amenities as I was in a relatively small university with a small campus. Another thing I really enjoy is the overall atmosphere, classes and the education at BBIS. I find it so engaging especially compared to how they do it in Turkey. It really feels like each individual is cared for and the classes are like privately tutored for us. This combined with the really friendly and cozy atmosphere that BBIS community and the campus creates I could not think of anywhere else to study or to send my kid hopefully one day.
Have you lived with your parents until this age? Now is your time to learn how to be independent and start your journey of self development. I can’t think of anywhere else than boarding experience to really prepare the students there to be independent individuals. The great part is that this is all done within the safety of Boarding and it’s great mentors at BBIS. I can’t count the amount of times we had amazing time together with great mentors who really treated us like we were their kids but at the same time we had our own individual responsibilities which taught us a lot. Overall looking back I will always remember boarding as one of the best times in my life and I would recommend it to anyone. Maybe it is a big step to live alone but believe me it was the right one. Looking back to our time at BBIS, we concluded unanimously that the most special thing about BBIS Boarding is the international community that it brings together and fosters. It exposes students to diverse cultures and languages, and at the same time provides a sense of belonging. Over the course of several years, both my brother and I made life-long friends in the face of fellow boarding students, mentors, and administration staff. Everyday life at BBIS Boarding taught us how to be independent, disciplined, committed, responsible, and considerate of those around us.
While closely monitoring each student’s academic success and providing assistance whenever needed, the BBIS Boarding mentors and staff ensure that there is a variety of leisure activities that students can sign up for. Additionally, being located in the outskirts of Berlin, BBIS Boarding offers the peace and quiet of a small town and at the same time allows students to explore the vibrant and cosmopolitan city in their free time.
